Richard Allen and Brian
Shilling are cooking up something new and different for SAS Bowl this year.
The new format will feature more SAS-related questions in a Jeopardy style,
but still allow for the goofiness that we all expect from Brian. It should be
a fun time for all.
Two Very Special Events!
Temecula Valley Wine Country Tour aboard the

Join us Sunday, May 23, 2004 for a fun-filled
day visiting a variety of wineries, each with a character as rich and
individual as the wines they produce. A Grapeline Shuttle will pick us up at
the Wyndham at 9:45am for the approximately one hour drive to Temecula County
and will return us to the hotel around 5:00pm.
The tour includes stops at 4 wineries with
plenty of time for tasting and shopping. The first stop is Callaway Winery
for a behind-the-scenes tour of the valley's largest winemaking estate. Then
it’s off to lunch, which is pre-arranged at the newest winery in the valley,
Ponte Family Estate at their Smokehouse Cafe (please note that the cost of
lunch is not included in the tour price). The Smokehouse Cafe is famous for
their wood-fired pizzas and microbrew beer (yes, even in wine country you can
find beer)!
After lunch, we’ll experience more wine
tasting and shopping as we’re off to Wilson Creek Winery where everyone must
sample their famous almond champagne and chocolate port. Discount coupons for
all the wine tasting, wine purchasing and shopping are included in the tour
price.
You will not want to miss this terrific
opportunity to have some fun, taste some exceptional wines, take in the
gorgeous scenic hills of Southern California, and relax with your fellow
conference attendees leaving the driving to Grapeline! The cost (not
including lunch) is $45 per person. You must sign up and pay in advance for
this tour when you register for the conference. Tickets are limited and this
tour is sure to fill up quickly!!!
Dinner in a
Treehouse at the San Diego Zoo!
(including a private Animal Presentation)

The PharmaSUG 2004 conference planners and
our two friends above would like to invite everyone to a fabulous night of
great conversation, cocktails, elegant dining, and a private animal
presentation on Monday evening, May 24, 2004 at the world famous San Diego
Zoo. We will travel by bus from the Wyndham around 6:20pm to the Zoo (about a
10 minute ride) and return to the hotel around 10:00pm.
Time permitting we will begin the evening
with a private 30-45 minute guided Twilight Bus Tour. At sunset, the Zoo is
closed to the general public and the nocturnal animals that have been napping
all day are waking. This is a very relaxing experience with plenty of insider
information and entertaining anecdotes provided.
Next we’ll discover The Treehouse where on
one of the beautiful decks overlooking the Zoo, downtown San Diego and Balboa
Park we will have a wine, beer, and soft drink cash bar as we enjoy an hour
long, up close encounter with some of the Zoo’s exotic animals and have a
chance to talk with their trainers.
We will conclude the evening with an elegant
buffet dinner set in the Treetop Room named after the legendary Treetops Lodge
in Kenya. Floors to ceiling windows provide views of botanical landscapes
that stretch for miles. There is even a private waterfall. Ceiling fans,
natural and recessed lighting, and authentic African décor will suggest we are
in a faraway special place… if only for a little while!
Adult tickets and children 12 and over are
$60, and children ages 3-11 are $40 each. This includes everything described
above plus transportation between the Wyndham and the Zoo. Only the cash bar
is extra. Dinner will include coffee, hot tea, and water. This should be a
fantastic evening to remember and space is limited, so please join us by
signing up and paying in advance when you register for the conference.
