Decoding the Gen AI Era for Biometrics : Turning AI Potential into Actionable Solutions

Kevin Lee
Thursday, October 17, 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Gen AI, mostly known ChatGPT, is at the forefront of the next revolution, and in this seminar, we’re about to embark on a journey that will demystify this remarkable technology. Imagine a virtual assistant that can do the following.

  • Comprehend and generate human-like text from Clinical Trial Data
  • Answer questions about specific patients
  • Write SAS/R/Python codes
  • Assist in content creation such as tables/listing/graphs
  • Unleash its creativity in the realm of art.

To truly harness its potential, you need to understand how to use ChatGPT in the art of prompt engineering, application development using ChatGPT API in Python/SAS and fine-tuning ChatGPT with your own data. In the seminar, we will embark on an exploration of ChatGPT that will equip you with the knowledge and skills to leverage its capabilities effectively while ensuring ethical and responsible use.

Below is a tentative agenda.
– Introduction of LLM, Gen AI and ChatGPT
– ChatGPT Use Cases in Biometrics
– Prompt it, not Google it
– Prompt Engineering
– Gen AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini)
– Gen AI API in SAS, Python, R
– LangChain, RAG
– Gen AI (e.g., ChatGPT) Risk and Concerns
– Gen AI (e.g., ChatGPT) Implementation Roadmap
– Future of Gen AI/ChatGPT in Biometrics

Navigating Clinical Trial Data Analysis with R: An Introduction to CDISC, R Programming by Example, Dealing with Missing Values, and Reporting with Quarto

Joshua Cook
Thursday, October 17, 2024, 1:30 PM – 5:30 PM ET

Summary: Dive into the world of clinical trial data analysis with this introductory-level workshop. Learn the current principles and requirements of the Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium (CDISC) to ensure compliance and standardization in your datasets, gain hands-on experience with R programming using the powerful Pharmaverse packages, discover effective strategies for handling missing values in clinical data to ensure your analyses remain robust and reliable, and finally, streamline your reporting processes with Quarto, integrating reproducible research practices seamlessly into your workflow. This introductory session equips you with the essential background, tools, and examples to excel in clinical trial data analysis using R.

Key R Packages:

  • Pharmaverse: A collection of R packages designed to support pharmaceutical data analysis, including admiral, a package for creating Analysis Data Model (ADaM) datasets. Several other key Pharmaverse packages will be utilized.
  • mice: A package for multiple imputation of missing data.
  • Quarto: A multi-language, next generation version of R Markdown, with many new features and capabilities.
